It's this time of year again, I've made sure to decorate the house while watching the film Elf, why I decorated the tree with glass ornaments with a 9 month old baby who loves to grab sparkly things I'll never know.
I purchased the nut cracker from the Range as well as the garland
To make bows for your tree use ribbon with wire in it, I personally like tarten so used that.
Christmas angels seemed to go out of fashion but I love all things traditional, I found her in tescos and will repaint her face.
Don't worry Lailu's grandad's hand was holding her from behind the curtain making sure she wasn't going to fall.
I know I struggle thinking of Christmas presents for people, so I thought I'd share some of my ideas, don't worry I'm not paid or sponsored to promote the products I'm suggesting. They're just things I like.
Naked eyeshadow palette by urban decay. I'm sure you've all heard about this palette but if not, it has 12 eyeshadow shades from champagne highlighters, bronze sun-kissed to smokey, that are easy to wear and suits most people. It has a mixture of matte and metallic textures.

MAC VIVA GLAM lip sets are always a winner in my mind as the full R.R.P of the sale goes towards helping women, men and children everywhere affected by HIV/AIDS.
This year is featuring Rihanna’s red and metallic mauve VIVA GLAM Lipsticks, paired with this season’s limited-edition glittering red Viva Glamorous Bag. Or there are six of the most iconic VIVA GLAM shades together in a new Viva Glamorous Lip Palette.

Fisher price jumperoo is probably the best thing I ever purchased for Lailu, not only has it given her hours of bouncy fun, it also gives me a chance to get ready, especially when she was about 5 months old and couldn't sit up without me holding her.

I'm a huge fan of director Baz Luhrmann, with his previous films being Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge and Australia! He always seem to combine an incredible combination of stunning visuals, music and fashion, so I knew I was in for a bit of a treat when I heard his new film was The Great Gatsby. I love 1920s makeup, art deco design and fashion, my only wish is that I was part of the makeup team for the film!
Here's what Silvi had to say on the makeup:
“Baz Luhrmann approaches directing his films like a painter, giving strong priority to the looks of each character. In his mind, makeup is one of the key elements used to depict love, struggle, pain and romance”
“When we started preparing for the film, my department and I had to choose which products to use for the two main parties: What we referred to as the Glam party and the Sad and Tawdry party.” In creating The Great Gatsby‘s cinematic look, Silvi employed these four key elements:
“We based each character’s makeup looks around their costume and hair colour. For lighter skin shades we used Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in shades such as NW15 and NC20. For darker skin shades we used Matchmaster SPF 15 in shades such as 8 and 9.”
I wanted to do a quick blog post with a photo of the Lady Gaga inspired makeup from her music video Born this way, I did on request from my client going to a Halloween fancy dress party last night.
I will update this post soon with a more detailed description of how I did this makeup and a few more photo's but I'm just about to go to a party dressed as the Evil Queen from snow white and need to do my makeup, lol.
Products I used:
- Prep + Prime Natural radiance
- MAC white face and body
- Illamasqua skin base foundation White
- Prep + Prime finishing powder
- Ebony eye pencil to sketch out design
- MAC pro Chromaline BlackBlack to fill in as its water resistant
- MAC pro Paintstick to soften some of the edges
- MAC pro Acrylic paint in Black
- Omaga eyeshadow for shading skin
I found these behind the scenes photos of makeup I did for a cosmetic company a few years ago. Hair by my good friend Natalie Mitchell who's touring doing wig dressing for the theater production Oliver. I used all MAC products.
I painted a Harry Potter painting for my sister in law's Christmas present. I used Acrylic paint on 24'' x 30'' canvas. In this post I've included photos from a few of the stages.
