The makeup I used on myself and a mini review of a few of my favorite Bourjois products-

Face-

MAC- Prep and Prime skin- As you can tell if you have read my previous posts I always use a primer before applying foundation as it gets your makeup to last on your skin, and helps with a smooth application of  foundation.

HEALTHY MIX SERUM FOUNDATION- 16 hour radiance booster- A while ago they had sent me Healthy mix serum which I love for a natural finish foundation. Even though it is a sheer foundation it still covers redness, it has a natural satin finish that mimics the look of radiant skin, not too shiny not too matt.

MAC- Studio finish concealer- I have spot prone skin so need to go back with concealer in target areas, this MAC concealer is a  full coverage.

HEALTHY BALANCE UNIFYING POWDER- This powder is ultra fine so sets the foundation without looking powdery and dry.

Eyes-

SMOKY EYES TRIO EYESHADOW- I used the three eye shadows from the 13 brun wood pallet, I've got to say I am picky with eyeshadows but these were easy to blend and did have a good colour pay off. I was a fan of this colour combination  this palette comes with a olive green, warm red and black, these colours suit a lot of people but especially green eyes as the red in the brown will make green eyes look brighter.

LITTLE ROUND POT INTENSE EYESHADOW- I went back into the outer crease of my eye with the #10 black mineral based eyeshadow as you only need a small amount to create drama.

VOLUME CLUBBING BLACK JACK MASCARA- This mascara is great if you like volume, you can really build up your lashes to create drama.

QUEEN ATTITUDE KHÔL KAJAL- I used this all around my eye and in my waterline, it does last well in the waterline.

Lips-

MAC- Oak lip pencil, To the future pro longwear lipstick & clear lipglass.

China fashion week – Spring / Summer 2012

If you crave avant garde theatrical flights of fantasy, when it comes to this in terms of fashion weeks the country that stands out to me would have to be China.

The Chinese spring / summer 2012 shows did not hold back on make-up and flamboyant costume. The MGPIN make-up and styling show took place in Beijing; most of the images on this post are from those shows. The usual less is more mantra that usually applies to catwalk make-up certainly does not apply, hold on to your brushes make-up lovers.

Chain of Hope Charity Event at the National History Museum, Stephane Rolland fashion show

I worked at the charity event last night (10/11/2011).  Stephane Rolland haute couture dresses were incredible, I was very careful when I was applying makeup in the line up!

Pablo Rodriguez was the key makeup artist. His design was beautiful, inspired by Barbara Streisand.

We used all MAC products to create the look.

For the eye's we applied painterly paint pot as the base with myla eye shadow pressed on top. We then sketched out the shape using feline eye pencil/carbon eye shadow/blacktrack gel eye liner on the top and bottom lash lines. This also helped to deepen the contour through the socket line.

The essential element of the look was the shape of the eye from a distance, we drew the black line just above the socket line to get optimum impact.
